There were no Region games played this week, so the standings remain the same. The next two weeks are critical for UMS-Wright. If the Bulldogs win both, they could be back in the running for the top spot in the Region (with a little help from Williamson beating Vigor later in October).Â

T. R. Miller Game Recap
UMS-Wright fell behind 7-0 early in the game and never took the lead over the Tigers before dropping a 28-14 Non-Region game at home on Friday night. The Bulldogs had their lowest rushing numbers of the season, but also had their highest passing total of the season. UMS-Wright travels to Citronelle this Friday, and the game has major Region seeding implications. A win over the Wildcats would put the Bulldogs in good position to finish no lower than #3 in the Region. Â
Â
1st Quarter
T. R. Miller took the opening kickoff and went on a 14 play, 71 yard drive to score on their opening drive. Trailing 7-0, UMS-Wright started at their own 29 yard line and Max Fowler's first down pass was intercepted downfield. Â
The Tigers ripped off a 10 yard run to convert a 3rd & 6, but couldn't convert the next 3rd down and punted from midfield. Fowler hit Camden Taylor for a 12 yard gain on 2nd & 10 as the quarter ended.

2nd Quarter
Max Fowler hit Bo Wills on a swing pass for 9 yards to open the quarter, but the Bulldogs running game failed to gain the final yard and Denton Elliott punted it away. T. R. Miller muffed the punt reception, and Perry Hand recovers the loose ball to set the Bulldog offense up inside the Tiger 30 yard line. Fowler connected with Elliott on an 8 yard out, then found him again 2 plays late for a 12 yard gain. A third completion to Elliott on the drive resulted in a 10 yard Touchdown to tie the game.
Miller answered with another sustained drive of 73 yards on 9 plays, converting a 3rd and 10 for 25 yards to set up an 8 yard touchdown pass to regain the lead. David Lott blocked the extra point attempt. Â
UMS-Wright returned the kickoff to their own 33-yard line. Despite 3 completed passes, including a 23 yard completion from Fowler to Portacci, the Bulldogs ran out of clock and head into the half trailing 13-7. Â

3rd Quarter
UMS-Wright started on offense in the second half, but a quick 3 & out resulted in a punt. T. R. Miller put together a 10-play 71 yard scoring drive to extend their lead to 19-7, and the ensuing 2-point conversion made it 21-7. Â
After multiple kickoffs out of bounds, Bo Wills returned a short kick across midfield and gave the Bullodogs great field position at the Tiger 47 yard line. A 3rd & 6 scramble lost 10 yards, and a pre-snap penalty on the ensuing 4th down attempt forced a Bulldogs punt. The Bulldogs would get the ball back 2 plays later after David Lott intercepted a pass deflected by Caplyn Reed and returned the ball to the Tiger 28 yard line.
Fowler's 3rd down screen pass to Perry Hand gained 9 yards. The Bulldogs looked to convert the 4th & 1 on a nice run from Bo Wills, but it was called back for a holding penalty. Fowler's 4th & 11 pass was intercepted in the end zone.
Back to Back runs of 36 yards and 10 yards had the Tigers back in Bulldog territory as the quarter ended.

4th Quarter
Miller completed 2 passes and overcame a 10 yard penalty of their own to take a 28-7 lead early in the 4th quarter. Â
The Bulldogs responded with a long drive covering 68 yards on 10 plays to cut the lead to 28-14. Fowler completed 4 passes on the drive including a 15 yard seam route to Wills and 22 yard completion to Portacci. Fowler ran it in from 9 yards out to finish the drive. Â
The Bulldog defense forced a 3 & out, and the Bulldogs converted a 4th & 10 on a pass from Fowler to Wills. The drive ended on another 4th down attempt when Fowler's pass to Portacci got tipped into the hands of a Miller defender for an interception to end the game.

Plays of the Game
Offense: Max Fowler completed 3 passes to Denton Elliott in a single drive in the 2nd quarter. The third completion was a 10 yard touchdown completion. Elliott ran a strong route to get separation towards the sideline, and Fowler's pass was on target just in front of the goalline. Elliott stepped into the end zone to tie the game at 7-7.
Defense: Trailing by two scores in the 3rd quarter, T. R. Miller quarterback Nathan Commander rolled to his left looking for a downfield receiver near the sideline. Caplyn Reed dropped back into zone coverage and tipped the ball as David Lott cut in front of the receiver for the interception.
