Peyton Holderer's announcement to the state that he will be a force on the trails this year. Peyton won the race going away with a 3k time of 9:19.00, more than 30 seconds ahead of the 2nd place runner. In cross country, a 30 second win is akin to a blowout in other sports.
Noah Gautier (8th) and
Burns Willis (9th) joined Peyton as medalists for the boys. Kenley Cooper was the top runner for the girls, earning a medal for her 7th place finish.
In the team scores, the boys were edged out of first place by a single point and finished second behind St. Paul's. The girls placed 5th in a crowded field near the top, with 2nd and 5th place separated by only 19 points.
