Mallory Helms was named the Mobile Optimist Club Cross Country Athlete of the Year. She was joined by Coach
Garrett Schumacher at the end of the year banquet to receive her award. Coach Schumacher said, "Mallory put together a dominant Sophomore season winning 7 total races. She finished 6th at the 6A AHSAA Cross Country State Championships with a PR of 18:47 earning her All-State honors. Her race at State recorded the fastest time of any female runner in the Mobile/Baldwin County area this season."
