Wes Lathan

Wes Lathan is entering his 9th year at UMS-Wright Preparatory School. He has been involved in teaching and administration in the Middle and Upper school, he currently serves as Associate Head of School, Upper School Principal, and Assistant Athletic Director. Befores moving into administration, Coach Lathan worked under Coach Terry Curtis as a Varsity Football coach, where he coached linebackers for the 2012 and 2017 State Championship teams. 

Before coming to UMS-Wright, Coach Lathan spent 5 years as the Assistant Athletic Director at Foley High School. He was a football coach at Murphy, Fairhope and Foley for 14 years; 7 of those years as the Linebackers coach and Co-Defensive Coordinator at Foley. 

Coach Lathan played baseball at the University of Montevallo where he graduated with his bachelor's degree in Social Science. He later earned his master's degree in Education Leadership from the University of South Alabama. 

Coach Lathan and his wife Ashley have been married for 14 years and have twins, Brady and Madison, who are in 7th grade at UMS-Wright.
