Coach Russ Myers enters his fifth season on the Varsity Football Coaching Staff. Coach Myers returned to his Alma Mater in 2019 and currently serves as the Linebackers coach for the Varsity Football team and Defensive Coordinator for the UMS-Wright Club Lacrosse team. 

Coach Myers graduated from UMS-Wright in 2018 and played Middle Linebacker for the Bulldog’s 2017 4A State Championship team.  As a college freshman, Coach Myers was a member of the Honors College and Pre-Dental program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He concluded his undergraduate education at the University of South Alabama, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science in 2022. He currently serves as the Sports Performance coach for the UMS-Wright Athletic Department.

Coach Myers is engaged to Morgan Murphy.
