Coach Mike Blaylock enters his 22nd year coaching at UMS-Wright. He was named Head Softball Coach in the Fall of 2016.  In 2017 and 2019, the Bulldogs clinched the Area 1 Title.

During his time at UMS-Wright, Coach Blaylock was the assistant baseball coach for thirteen years.  In his time with the baseball program, the Bulldogs posted 4A Area Championships in 2002, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016, two semi-final appearances in 2002 and 2012, and three State Championships in 2010, 2011, and 2016. Coach Blaylock has also coached with both the varsity and middle school football programs over his career, with four high school championship seasons in 2008, 2012, 2017, 2018. As the head softball coach, his teams have won the area championship two times in 2017 and 2019.They have also advanced to regionals two times in 2017 and 2019.
 
Coach Blaylock begins his 17th year teaching at UMS-Wright and currently is the Driver’s Education Instructor. Coach Blaylock and his lovely wife Allison have two children: Cole (Class of 2023)- Currently at the University of South Alabama and Hope 11th Grade (Class of 2025).
