    Head Boys Soccer Coach
Joseph Moody begins his 30th year of coaching high school soccer this season. Coach Moody spent 21 years building a successful soccer program at Mary Montgomery High School. In the 21 years as the Head Coach for MGM, he led the program to 12 area championships, 7 Quarterfinal, 4 Semifinal, and 1 AHSAA 6A Final Four appearances. He has been named a 3-time Mobile Press Register Coach of the Year, 2-time AHSAA Soccer All-Star Coach, Mobile Optimist Club Coach of the Year and Crichton Optimist Club Coach of the Year. Upon retiring from the MCPSS school system, he was an Assistant Varsity Coach and Goalkeeper coach at McGill-Toolen.

He helped formed the first US Club Soccer Program in the state of Alabama, the Viking Futbol Club, where he served as Director of Coaching. Coach Moody, also helped with the establishment of the Mobile United Soccer Club. Throughout his career, he has coached for the Mobile United Soccer Club, the Gulf Coast Texans, and the Mobile Soccer Club. He also served on the coaching staff of the Alabama Olympic Development Program (ODP). Coach Moody has also served numerous years as the AHSAA District I Soccer Representative. He holds a USSF National “D” License and a NSCAA Advanced Regional License.

In his past 3 years at UMS-Wright, he has coached the team to 1 play-off appearance and a 28-21-8 record, bringing his overall record to 328-70-30. Coach Moody also has had 12 players selected to either All-Area or All-County teams along with one player earning North-South All-Star honors.

Coach Moody and his wife Jodi have been married for 31 years and have 2 daughters, Kaitlyn and Hannah. When not teaching and coaching, Coach Moody enjoys spending as much time with his family, hiking and travelling.
