Coach Gerald "Bullit" Jones enters his 17th year coaching at UMS-Wright. Coach Jones has served as the Director of Football Operations since 2008. He has coached running backs and served as an Assistant Coach for the 2005, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Bulldog State Championship teams. He was named the 2017 AHSAA 4A Assistant Coach of the Year. Coach Jones is also in his 12th year managing concessions for all sports teams at UMS-Wright.
Coach Jones is the CEO of the Bulldog Athletic Association, the program for young Bulldogs in grades 3 – 6. He has been the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach since 2009, helping his teams to back-to-back State Championships in both 2011 and 2017. He also works with the Senior Bowl as the assistant team manager for the North Team. Coach Jones is also a member of the Mobile Metro Umpiring Group and was an umpire for the Alabama High School Baseball Finals in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Coach Jones graduated from Faulkner University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He attended Theodore High School and graduated in the Class of 1990.
