Jay Koziol

Coach Jay Koziol enters his 8th year as the Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator at UMS-Wright. He is also the Head Girls Golf Coach and is in charge of several Study Hall classes.

Coach Koziol retired from the Baldwin County Public School System in May 2016 after 25 years of teaching and coaching. Coach Koziol began his career at Baldwin County High School as their Defensive Coordinator. In 1999, he became the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Robertsdale High School until 2005. He spent the next four years as the Defensive Coordinator at Gulf Shores High School, before returning to Baldwin County High School to be the Assistant Head Coach and Linebackers Coach. Coach Koziol was also an Assistant Coach in the 30th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game in December 2016. He was inducted into the Baldwin County Varsity Coaches Association Hall of Fame in May 2017.

A native of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Coach Koziol graduated from John Hersey High School before attending Troy State University. During his time there, he was a member of the 1987 Troy State Division II National Championship team. He graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Social Science Education. He is married to Mrs. Elizabeth Koziol.
