Coach Emanuel King joined the Varsity Football staff in 2011 as the Defensive Line Coach. Prior to coming to UMS-Wright, Coach King was the Defensive Line coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Cottage Hill Christian Academy. 

Coach King began his coaching career at Bishop Ludden High School in Syracuse, New York before joining the coaching staff at Morrisville State College, where he would later be named the Defensive Coordinator. In 2006, Coach King returned to his alma mater where he continued to coach. During his stint as an Assistant Coach, Leroy won 3 State Championships.

A native of Jackson, AL, Coach King was an All-State performer in football and basketball at Leroy High School. Coach King signed a football scholarship to play at the University of Alabama in 1981, where he played for 2 years under Head Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant and 2 years under Head Coach Ray Perkins. During his time at Alabama, Coach King earned All-SEC Honors and was voted the Permanent Team Co-Captain his senior year. 

In 1985, Coach King was drafted into the NFL where he played 4 years for the Cincinnati Bengals and 2 years for the Los Angeles Raiders. He later signed with the Montreal Machine of NFL Europe. He also spent time playing for the Sacramento Goldminers, the Ottawa Roughriders, and the Winnipeg Bluebombers in the Canadian Football League. 

Coach King and his wife have seven children: Jordan, Cole, Brandon, Emanii, Kallie, Ethan, and Kacie Grace.
