Coach Shannon Phillips has been coaching on the UMS-Wright Volleyball coaching staff for the past 9 years. In addition to coaching, she also teaches AP Honors and College Prep Chemistry at UMS-Wright. She has coached volleyball at various levels, including middle school, JV, and club for 11 years.
A graduate of Dothan High School, Coach Phillips went on to play volleyball at Huntingdon College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. She later earned her master's degree from the University of South Alabama. During her time at Huntingdon, she was named to the All-Freshman Team, the All-Conference Team, and the All-Academic Team.
Coach Phillips and her husband, Chris, have a son, John (2). Chris is the Planning and Analytics Coordinator for the Sacred Heart Health Systems.
