About Our Program

UMS-Wright offers many opportunities for cheerleading participation. As early as K3, girls can show their school spirit and support our athletes by being a cheerleader. Our Baby Bulldog program includes K3 - 2nd grade girls who participate at a clinic led by the Middle School, JV, and Varsity Cheerleaders on a Saturday in August. The Baby Bulldogs perform during a varsity football pre-
game show, participate in the annual homecoming parade, and perform during one varsity basketball half-time. Girls may continue cheerleading in third through sixth grades as cheerleaders for the
Bulldog Athletic Association football teams. BAA Cheerleaders attend a clinic in early June and cheer during games that are held in the fall.

Tryouts for Middle School (7th & 8th graders), JV (9th &10th graders), and Varsity (11th &12thgraders)
Cheerleaders are held usually during late March. All three squads attend UCA camp together each summer. Throughout the year, the squads cheer for football and basketball games, participate in several service activities, organize and participate in several pep rallies, assist with Baby Bulldogs and B.A.A. 3rd-6th grade cheerleading, paint banners for all sports, as well as many
other activities.

The cheerleading program at UMS-Wright is very rewarding but requires a lot of hard work and dedication. It is a great honor to be a UMS-Wright cheerleader!
